To sum it up, jedi design philosophy sacrifices literally everything (they got rid their ejection seats in favor of meditation couches and refuse to wear flight suits) in the name of performance. Only by the power of screeching fanboy does nobody ever add a "More primitive than even a slugthrower" more sensible spring than a car suspension, auto loader, or even a ye olden times 'so peasants can reload something with even more of a draw strength' to a bowcaster.Ĭlick to shrink.I believe the "reasons," as you put it, are that the jedi strip out most of the safety systems from their fighter craft that are there to keep people from dying to things like collisions (so no warning lights/alarms that dont involve the fighter's actual condition because those would distract them from their precog aim dodging) and enemy fire (cant get shot if you arent there to get hit), then up the sensitivity on controls about as high as it can go/remove deadzones (because you need really fine control to not get hit when precog dodging). They are built wrong on purpose, but with honest ways for honest reasons ("Weak noodle armed not wookies can't steal our gun and shoot us with it") that can easily be bypassed because the flaws are not reliant on fairy dust and wishes with the universe itself ready to smite you for fixing it. Jedi Starfighters just follow the sadly common design philosophy of "It doesn't matter how effective it is, it only matters that I'm the only one allowed to use it without not working at all, or even better killing or maiming those for sullying it with their filthy not as special as me hands!.
